dance lesson

i am very lucky that my boy's are such good sports when it comes to being photographed. there are definitely times where they are less than thrilled to help me check out a new location to shoot & that's where a little bribery comes in handy. recently i was filing some discs away and noticed how many of the discs full of the boys pictures i had the last couple years compared to this year. i am guilty recently of not taking regular, everyday shots that show genuine moments. i find myself trying to constantly get the "perfect" shot with the boys & it finally took my youngest to open my eyes and see the light. 

i wanted to try a new spot last night and they were great sports…taking all my directions "stand there", "look that way" ect. at the very end my youngest broke out into some of his famous dance moves. i kept clicking away as he was his crazy, fun self. when i went through the pictures this morning to edit, those last pictures of him were my absolute favorite. these are a real representation of his happy go lucky personality & they made me smile. i'm not saying i'm going to stop trying to get "the" shot, but this was a very important lesson for this girl.
